Blessed Beneficiaries

"Dear sin, will you ever get old? Will you ever stop dragging my soul in the trail of your aftermath?"

"No. I am in your very nature, woven and intertwined into your flesh"

"Dear God, can you make me new? Can you change my heart so that I may leave behind the old me and pursue a spiritual awakening?"

"Yes. My grace is sufficient for you, it is all you need to be the person I have predestined you to be. Let it seep into the pores of your soul. Live in it, rest in it, live by it."

'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!'

'For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,'

I wrote this a few years ago, wallowing in sin and thinking of the power of it. However, today I've come to a place of better understanding the power of grace. I mean think about it, not only does it cleanse us from all transgressions, but it changes our response to God in the face of sin. I continue to see my wretchedness, yet the faith I hold onto knowing full well I am accepted by God and called blameless moves me closer to Him, not further. And hey, who doesn't want to be around a God who loves you even in the most broken state that you find yourself in? I know I do and I know now that the things I do for His kingdom are really just a response to what He did for me first.

Whatever your downfall or sin, I hope it moves you to a place that is toward God and not away. He uses all things for good, even our sin. The power of grace is too great of a force to be withstood by our wrongdoings and pride. For this is why the New Covenant exits, Jesus Christ and grace were always the plan....and we are the blessed beneficiaries.
